Babylon 5 News

Both Eden and Einheriar emailed me about Zentertainment’s two articles relating to Neil:

The BABYLON 5 prequel movie, “B5: In the Beginning,” is scheduled to air on TNT Sunday, January 4th, while the new fifth season of the sci-fi series begins January 19th at 10pm. Also, look for the four final episodes of the fourth season to begin airing in syndication the week of October 6th. In other B5 news, ANDY MANGELS’s HOLLYWOOD HEROES reports the Neil Gaiman (Sandman)-scripted episode will be titled “The Day of the Dead,” and in addition to starring the station’s normal characters, “will also introduce two characters who have been oft-mentioned, but who have never been seen on screen!”

And this:

ANDY MANGEL’s HOLLYWOOD HEROES reports MIRAMAX plans to start a franchise of films around the character MODESTY BLAISE, which would star Natasha Henstridge (Species) in the title roll. A script for the first film was co-written by Quentin Tarantino, and Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, La Femme Nakita, Leon) is expected to direct. Neil Gaiman (Sandman, Neverwhere) is attached to script its sequel.

I admit to being confused by the signing of someone to write a sequel to something that hasn’t even been started, much less finished… Oh well, Hollywood should stop surprising me soon. (Um… yeah, right.)
