Vampire Tarot

Nightwalker supplied some information on the altfan.thingie about Neil’s Fiction in the new release of the Vampire: The Masquerade Role Playing Game:

Well, as far as I know, the selection of fiction is available only in the Vampire: The Masquerade 3rd Edition Limited Edition…it’s a slipcover edition with two books: One is the rules book, and the other is the collected art over the years from Vampire. The story (or, stories as it is) is called “Fifteen Painted Cards from a Vampire Tarot”…it was commisioned solely for the book. Think of it as 15 little stories, or sonnets, or snippets if you will. It is actually quite good. A little story for 15 Major Arcana cards.

Neil was going to do all 21 cards of the Major Arcana, but ended up doing only 15. Also, bad things struck White Wolf during the production of the Limited Edition. It was originally supposed to be a 7000 copy run (or somesuch number)…a very limited supply. Unfortunately, due to problems at the printer and other happenings, a loose number were made…approx. 2900-4000 according to my sources. Suffice to say, comic shops that ordered 10, only got 1 or 2….if any at all. It makes to be an interesting collectible.

It was also at Tropicon that Neil saw his first copy of it. It was
“interesting”….according to him.

It really is a pretty set of books…
