The Sandman coming to television?

io9.com is reporting The Sandman may be coming to television.

Warner Bros. TV is in the midst of acquiring television rights from sister company DC Entertainment and in talks with several writer-producers about adapting the 1990s comic. At the top of the list is Eric Kripke, creator of the CW’s horror-tinged “Supernatural.”

This is currently just a rumor, and it’s curious that it appeared just as Neil announced he was off the Internet for 18 days, which could mean “he’s off to work on pitches for a Sandman show” or “someone has taken advantage that he can’t immediately deny a rumor”.
